October

I love October.  

It felt like fall this weekend and I could not have enjoyed it more.

I think I've blogged about these canvases before.  My sweet and incredibly talented S-I-L, Sara made them for all of us girls one year for Christmas.  There is one for each month.  I love switching them out at the beginning of each month.  Always makes me think about and stop and pray for Sara.

Yesterday I had my last Robotics workshop.  YAY!!  It was fun but I am glad that it is over.  It was held at a local college.  I enjoyed being on campus.  It made me want to go back to school.  Very few things make me happier than being a student with new school supplies and new classes.  I would be a full time student if Andrew would let me.  He always says something about not being able to afford it when I bring it up.

He played golf with the nephews while I was at the workshop.  Apparently they didn't play too well.

After naps we went to the Ozark Trail Festival that was happening down at the courthouse.  Lots of vendors selling all kinds of things and lots of food trucks.  We didn't stay long.  We didn't even enjoy the food trucks.

We bought mums and pumpkins for the front porch.  

We went to our favorite local pizza place where neither one of us ordered pizza.

We came home and watched some college football.

It was a nice day together.

I love my family.

Starting Fall a Few Days Early

I have been in full Fall mode this weekend.

After seeing a couple people post about their new Bath & Body Works candles, I had to go get some of my own.  Social media peer pressure is real y'all.

So far I've burned Pumpkin Apple and Bourbon Butterscotch.  They both smell amazing but Pumpkin Apple is my favorite. They all smell yummy.  It was hard to choose only four.

There is something about Fall that makes me want to bake.  And I don't bake.  I woke up Saturday morning at 6:30.  Boo!  I was wide awake so I decided to go buy groceries.  

It's never a good idea to buy groceries when you are hungry and in the mood to bake.  Especially when there only two people in your house to eat everything you make.  

I made some apple cider muffins for breakfast.  They were yummy! 

I'm not the only one enjoying this fall weather.  Ever since we installed a doggy door we hardly see our Lincoln Baxter anymore.  The little guy loves being outside.

As much as were are loving that fall is right around the corner, we are still enjoying summer too.  We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the lake.  Lounging and lunch on The Liberty Belle.

In true fall fashion there were frito chili pies and football.  Razorbacks scored their third win of the season.  WPS!

Game Day!

I try very hard to enjoy the current season and to not wish it away.  The crazy high temperatures this summer haven't really bothered me because I've had the blessing of enjoying the AC indoors all summer.  I haven't had to be out in the heat.

Lately though I've been dreaming of fall.  The husband called the other day to let me know he bought us tickets to the two Razorback games in LR.  I was so stinkin' excited.  I ask for tickets every year, but this is the first year he has bought them.  I couldn't believe it.  I asked him if he was serious about ten times before I finally believed him.

I instantly started planning my Game Day outfits.  It's very important.  Normally I'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl.  I don't know how those girls stand wearing cute dress shoes for the entire game.  But this year I want to be all girly.  I'm going to try it the first game and see how it goes.  I may be back to tshirt and jeans for the second game. :)  So far I have found several things that I LOVE, but none that I can afford.  Who knew Game Day dresses were so expensive.

Between the excitement of the first football game being right around the corner and my new Carrot Cake scent in the scentsy, I am ready for fall.  Bring on the crisp weather and boots!

A Hint of Fall

I opened the backdoor long enough to let Liberty and Liam out this morning. It was a bit cool. I immediately thought it felt and maybe even smelled a bit like fall.

It might have gotten me all excited. I'm excited. I love everything about fall. Plus I have a new dress, new boots, and a new jacket all just waiting to be worn this fall. I CAN NOT WAIT.

To me fall starts with the first Razorback game. That took place this past Saturday. It's time to break out all the fall/Razorback decor. Maybe I'll share some pics with you soon. They might have even be taken with my new camera...a birthday present from the husband that I'll share more about it later. I'm waiting for it to arrive. I have a new "fall" scent from scentsy called pumpkin marshmallow. It is wonderful! You must try it. I'm thinking about hosting a party later this month. If you live in the area, would you come? I'm always so nervous about hosting things like this. What if no one shows up? Aww my insecurities.

Anyway.

The husband spent the weekend in Osceola visiting with his family and helping his parents work on their new house. We were supposed to go together, but Friday I decided we should go our separate ways. Me to my family Friday night and him to his on Saturday. I was WAY behind on grading papers, because who grades papers on their birthday or after sitting at he first football game all night? I knew going to Osceola would leave me stressed out today trying to finish everything before tomorrow. I guess I could have taken it with me and worked on it there, but that seemed a bit rude to me.

I'm glad I decided to stay behind because I've been sick all weekend. I have a horrible cold. I'm sneezing all over all the place and I can't be up for more than a few minutes before I feel awful and need to sit back down. I wanted so badly to have the house clean before the husband came home, but I just haven't felt like it. I managed to get about half of my papers graded Saturday night and I've done a bit of laundry here and there.

I'm feeling a little better this morning so maybe I can get a little more done before he comes home.

Fall Is In The Air

I'm loving the weather we are having this week. It has been much cooler. Unfortunately it has rained every day this week. I've definitely been praising God for the rain because we needed it, but it is getting in the way of my plans. I wanted to mow the yard for the husband this week. No big loss there. :) But I haven't been able to go outside and paint my doors and drawers for my desk either.

Even though as a science teacher I know the autumnal equinox, a.k.a, fall, doesn't arrive for another couple of weeks, in my opinion it has arrived. The Hogs have played and the weather is cooling down. What more do you need to know that fall is here?

This cooler rainy weather makes me lazy though. I don't want to do anything but curl up in my new chair with a good book. It doesn't help that I come home from work exhausted every day. These 7th graders are wearing me out!

I haven't gotten around to putting out my fall decor around the house, so I thought I would do the next best thing. Give the old blog a makeover.

I love the owl and tree. Owls are my new favorite thing! I'm not sure what my obsession is with them, but I definitely love all things owl right now.

The husband will be home tomorrow night. I'm more than ready. Having the perfect weekend only makes me miss him even more when he goes. We have a wedding Saturday that I'm praying won't get rained on and then we are taking it easy. The husband will leave again Wednesday for South Carolina. Even though I will miss him, I'm so excited he is taking this trip. It is pleasure not business. He is going to a conference with his brother and uncle. I'm praying God moves big time through this conference in the lives of all the men attending.

Fall

I absolutely love fall. Today, for some reason, has felt like fall to me. I took my hoodie to the workshop today because I have froze the past two days. Today was no different. I ended up wearing my hoodie all day and was still a little cold. Driving home, I began to imagine the leaves on the trees as they change color. This particular change always reminds me of the awesomeness that is our God. He could have chose to only use one color for leaves in the fall, but he uses so many. It is absolutely beautiful...one of my most favorite pictures.

Getting up early this week is catching up with me. I'm so sleepy and just feel lazy tonight. I came straight home, didn't turn on any lights, and curled up in bed to watch TV. This made it feel like fall even more. Now I'm snacking on Reese's cups. Yes, somehow Reese's reminds me of fall.

I am so ready for fall. With it comes Razorback football, chicken and dumplings, cool weather, and this year two new nieces to love one. I'm ready to sit on my back porch and enjoy a fire in the outdoor fireplace.

Oh fall... can you come a little quicker this year?

Fall Boredom

I have been meaning to post about how I love the fact that fall is approaching. It makes me ready for sweaters, football, and leaves falling. It also has me ready for Christmas. The other night I went out in the rain and for whatever reason the rain @ night made me ready for the holidays. If you want to know how I feel, read Jill's blog. She blogged all my feelings about fall for me. Thanks sister! :)

However, this weather also brings on another feeling for me. Boredom/Creativity. This weather makes me want to be crafty. Crazy I know. It's driving me insane right now. I have at least 6 scrapbooks that I would like to be working on right now, but my scrapbook room is torn apart and sitting in the garage. Hopefully that will won't be the case for very much longer. As soon as Cary, my b-i-l gets back from vacationing I'm going to try to put him & Drew to work. :) For today I will settle for scrapbooking @ the kitchen table. This weather makes me want to be creative with food as well as papers, but unfortunately I'm not so talented in the cooking department. Andrew says it is because I'm so picky - I don't know what food is supposed to taste like and I just don't enjoy doing it.

I've also been dreaming about ways to decorate my house so that is that fall/holiday feeling. Kudos to Jill & Joy my 2 s-i-l's. Their homes always have that feeling. I wish I knew how they did it. I'm sure helps that they are both much better housekeepers than I will ever be. I also blame it on my furniture. They both have darker furniture that goes with anything. I have blue leather. Don't get me wrong. I love my furniture, but it has more of a summer feeling and less of a fall feeling. I find it very difficult to make blue leather match fall. Maybe I can talk Andrew into buying furniture for each season. HA!
