Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday...I think.

I am on Spring Break this week and have completely lost track of anything related to a calendar.

Throw in the fact that school is closed through April 3 due to Covid 19 and I'm really confused about dates.

But I will say I'm thankful for my slow mornings and time off work right now.

I'm also thankful that I will return to work on Monday to start planning distance learning for my students.  We may be limited to online interactions but it is better than nothing.

This week I've tried to find the perfect balance between cuddling the LBs, reading for pleasure (because research paper is basically finished), and being productive.

Andrew and I have spent the past couple of nights going through all the things in our giant storage unit.  It feels so good to be purging and simplifying life.  I am thankful that we have been able to make good progress and should have our storage unit emptied by the end of this month.

We have done our best to keep some normalcy to life while the world feels uncertain and chaotic.  Andrew has said multiple times in the past few days that we live in the best country.  And he is right.  I am thankful to live in the United States where even during a pandemic I can go to the grocery store and purchase food.  I may not be able to purchase toilet paper, but I can purchase food and other necessities.

And even more than that I'm thankful to have a Father that is still on His throne.  He is still in control.  He has always provided and will continue to do so.

My brother-in-law posted this on social media yesterday...

Everything is out of control, right?

Sun still setting in the west.  God still painting across the horizon.  Be you a dollar it rises in the east tomorrow, and if not, I AM READY. So stop, take a minute, wash your hands, hug your kids, read your Bible, lookout for your neighbor, and breathe.  God knows and cares.

I'd say my brother-in-law is a pretty wise guy. :)

All the Countdowns

March Madness tournament starts in three days.

Y'all this is the only time of year I really watch college basketball but I LOVE it.  If you've been around since last March you know our family has a little bracket competition each year.

The smack talking is a little intense, but oh so much fun.

I have two goals each year....don't come in dead last and beat Andrew.

This year there will be a trophy so maybe I'll have three goals this year.

I'm taking it a step further this year and creating a little competition with some of my students.  I can totally make this a little math lesson right?

This is the last week before Spring Break.

No big plans other than an orthodontist appoint, an eye doctor appoint, and sleeping in every day.

Oh and lots of cleaning and organizing.

Getting ready for a fun party.

Our Masters Watching/Joint Birthday Party.

We are going to celebrate Andrew's birthday along with our nephew Cody's birthdays.

The guys will play golf and then we will lunch and watch the Masters.

I'm having fun planning and learning about the Masters.

Andrew bought us tickets for Memphis in May.

I may be just a little excited to see Megan Trainor.

And last but not least the planner in me is looking forward to summer and days of workshops.  My mind is already thinking about next year and ideas I want to try and themes for my classroom.

Spring Break 2015

I am absolutely loving the weather we are having this week.

It is gorgeous outside.

The guys are appreciative of it too.

They are working hard on The Barn.

The Barn will be storage, a shop for Andrew's woodworking tools, and his new office space.

Got to make room in the house for our babies to come home.

I call them our babies, but we aren't expecting to adopt babies.  They are school aged kids.

But they will still be my babies.

The Barn is going to be huge.

I know Andrew is thankful to have Pryce and Big Man here this week to help him.

They are making memories.

My job is to keep them fed and hydrated.  I'm pretty sure I've cooked more this week than in my entire life.

And you know what?

I've enjoyed every minute of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

It blesses my heart to serve the guys.

I've attempted and succeeded in making some traditional Weaver meals this week.

Not going to lie.  I'm pretty proud of myself.

Mexican Dish was my first adventure.  The guys loved it.

Even I liked it.

My second adventure was chocolate gravy and biscuits.

Thank you to my sweet brother-in-law, Chris, for walking me through an easy recipe.

In the moments I haven't been cooking or cleaning I have been tucked away in my office working on a couple of scrapbooks.

I've missed scrapbooking.  It's therapy for me.

It's something I hope my daughters enjoy doing so that we can scrapbook together.

It's been a good week.

Five on Friday

{one}
 Not only is it Friday, but Spring Break starts today!!!

{two}
Next weekend we are having a yard sale.  When we moved into our house we acquired A LOT of stuff.  As we were unpacking and organizing I was sorting and pricing items for this yard sale.  Most everything is priced and ready to go.  However, I still need to go through our clothes and a few other things.  My goal is to get rid of A LOT of stuff and maybe even make a little money.

{three}
I have my bracket all filled out and I am enjoying March Madness.  I'm excited about our little family competition especially since there are more family members joining in on the fun this year.  To make it even better I'm not the only girl this year.  I have a feeling the boys, who actually know what they are doing, have a good laugh whenever they look at my bracket and who I have winning it all.  Maybe I'll get lucky.

{four}
I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't watched this movie.

I'm watching it over Spring Break.  I'm thinking it a must on my to do list.

{five}
And just because I haven't shared any pictures of my sweet furbabies in entirely too long...

Spring Break 2012

I am on Spring Break this week and loving every minute of it. It hasn't quite been as productive as I had hoped thus far, but that's okay. It's only Tuesday.

Friday after school I was able to hold Sydney Faith for the first time. I went over to Jill's to take a gift to the girls and pick up some things I needed to borrow for a baby shower. Sydney is just the sweetest little thing. Andrew's mom says she looks a lot like Jill and Andrew did when they were babies. :)

Sunday I helped host a baby shower for my best friend from high school. I felt so blessed to be a part of the celebration. Miss Macy will be here in the next month. I can't wait to meet her and love on her. Mandy is going to be a wonderful mom.

In trying to move the pictures from my camera to my computer I accidentally deleted every picture I took at the shower. I feel sick! Just trust me that the mom to be was beautiful. :)

Yesterday I took the dogs to the vet for a minor surgery. I probably shouldn't even call it that. They had their teeth cleaned, but because they put them to sleep to do it they consider it a surgery. They also had their yearly shots and nails clipped. Poor Liberty Belle just doesn't do well with being put to sleep. She was not her self last night. At times you could tell she was struggling to control her body. She would lean against furniture because she couldn't stand. She was very calm and serious last night, which is complete opposite of her norm. She is usually wild and crazy. It just broke my heart. I'm thankful she woke up her crazy self this morning.

I have an appointment to get my hair cut and highlighted tomorrow. It is so blah and I'm ready for a change. I have an idea of what I want but haven't decided 100% for sure yet.

Right now I'm torn between two cuts. I'm hoping you can help me decide.

Spring Break 2011

I have enjoyed this week immensely. Makes me want to be a stay at home wife. We've had some big changes our house this week that I want to record so I will have them.

Monday - Andrew took the day off to spend with me. Isn't he so sweet? We spent the day shopping for bedding and dishes. He treated me to lunch at the Target Snackbar. HA! It was actually pretty tasty. And cheap too!

We made the decision to kick the dogs out of our bed. They sleep with us every night. Liberty started off in a crate in our laundry room but was in our bed by the end of the first year. Liam Bailey has slept in our bed from day one. The little guy has never known any other way. He has spent 99% of his life in our bed. Seriously!! I just got to the point where I wanted a clean bed more than I wanted to cuddle with our dogs. Don't get me wrong. I cried like a baby over this decision, but I know it was the right one. We took our old comforter (we found a new one while shopping) and made them a pallet in the floor. We brought Liberty in and worked with her for about 15 minutes. She is such a smart girl. She caught on quickly. Liam Bailey, not so smart, bless his heart. However, he doesn't like to get in trouble. He is a sensitive little guy. He learned that getting on the bed got him in trouble. He also follows Liberty around everywhere.

They actually did very well. We all survived our first night apart.

Tuesday - Lots of cleaning and working on some craft projects. We attended our first Razorback baseball game. Loads of fun! The weather was absolutely perfect for the occasion.

Wednesday - I spent the day running errands and shopping. Cleaned a little in the kitchen.

Thursday - I worked on school stuff today. I got all my papers graded and lesson plans drafted for the next two weeks.

Tomorrow I going to spend the day cleaning. Then we are headed up to see my parents. Looking forward to spending time with them. I haven't seen them since January. That is way too long!!
