My Man

I came across this tonight while I was stalking other blogs. I do that from time to time when I'm bored - just read through random people's blogs. Strange I know.

I love my man. He is my very best friend. He's my rock. I don't know what I do without him.

So tonight, I thought I'd play this game and answer a few questions about my man.

1. Who is your man? Andrew

2. How long have you been together? We went on our first date ten years ago, were engaged 8 years ago, and will celebrate 8 years of marriage in January.

3. How long did you date? We dated on and off for two years before getting engaged.

4. How old is your man? My sweetie turned 30 this year.

5. Who eats more? Ha! Definitely him. :)

6. Who said "I love you" first? He did. I responded with "Okay".

7. Who is taller? The husband is a full foot taller than I am.

8. Who sings better? He is and I love that about him.

9. Who is smarter? Him, hands down. He is the smartest person I know. And I truly mean that.

10. Whose temper is worse? Hmm. I guess I will say his.

11. Who does the laundry? Most of the time I do the laundry, but he does help.

12. Who takes out the garbage? He does.

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.

14. Who pays the bills? Thankfully he does. We tried several different ways of doing this before finding what works for us. He pays all of the bills except the water bill.

15. Who is better with the computer? Considering computers are his job, I'd say him. That man can do anything with a computer.

16. Who mows the lawn? Our nephew, Cody. HA! I'd say this is one of Andrew's least favorite chores so we pay our nephew to take care of it for us. Andrew doesn't have to worry about and Cody always has gas money. It works well for us. And we are so thankful that Cody doesn't mind.

17. Who cooks dinner? McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell, ... Seriously we eat out too much. On the rare occasion we cook we typically cook together.

18. Who drives when you are together? Andrew - It's how we've survived almost 8 years of marriage. :)

19. Who pays when you go out? He pays nine out of ten times. Occasionally he'll ask me to. It doesn't really matter it all comes from the same place.

20. Who is most stubborn? That's tough. We are both very stubborn people.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Again - we are both very stubborn people. :)

22. Whose parents do you see the most? It's about even. Maybe mine parents since his have moved to Osceola. We love our families and try to spend as much time with as possible.

23. Who kissed who first? He kissed me!

24. Who asked who out? He asked me to hang out.

25. Who proposed? He proposed on my birthday.

26. Who is more sensitive? Definitely ME!

27. Who has more friends? He does.

28. Who has more siblings? Andrew has two brothers and three sisters. I have one brother.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? I like to think it's even, but in all honestly he does.

I tag...Jennifer, Chelsey, Sara, Jill, and whoever else wants to play along.

Have You Ever?

Debbie at Arkansas Bloggers created a fun list of questions to help us Arkansas Bloggers get to know each other. If you are an Arkansas Blogger, please join in the fun and don't forget to link up here.

Have You Ever....

1. Started your own blog?
Yes, I've started several, but I'm down to just this one. I couldn't keep up with a separate one for teaching and yet another one for scrapbooking so they are all rolled into one.

2. Slept under the stars?
I slept outside on our trampoline once as a kid. I woke up soaking wet!

3. Played in a band?
I played clarinet in school from 6th grade all the way through graduation. Loved every minute of it.

One day I just forgot and got off at my house. The bus was long gone before I realized that I was home alone and locked out. We lived on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. There was never any traffic. I remember sitting on the front porch just crying scared to death. Then a car started coming. My little five year old self got so excited. I ran to the end of the driveway and started screaming, jumping up and down, and waving my arms. The man in the car drove right past me. But then he turned around and came back. I hopped in the car with him and gave him directions to my friend's house. I'm still amazed at 5 that I knew how to get there. I am awful with directions. My First Award & April Fool's Day

I received my first ever blog award from Chelsey over at Scrap Happy. I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about me that you might not already know and then I pass this award onto 7 of you. So here we go!

Seven Things About Me You Might Not Know.....
1. I used to have my nose pierced.
2. I prefer my ice cream in a cone.
3. When I was in Kindergarten, I rode in a car with a complete stranger. Glad he was a nice man.
4. I get homesick easily.
5. I do not like to sleep near a window or with my closet door open.
6. I am not a morning person.
7. When I was younger I used to imagine my name being Elaina Weaver (you know how girls are) and I didn't even know who Andrew was... another Weaver boy who isn't related to us.

I love all the blogs on my blog role. There is no way I could choose just 7 of you. Consider yourself all rewarded.

As you all know Thursday was April 1st, or better known as April Fool's Day. I arrived at school just before the first bell rang Thursday morning to find a little surprise.

I barely cracked my door open since my hands were full. At first I thought the cleaning staff found a new and strange cleaning method. But then I opened the door a little further and found this...

My desk chair was on top of a table as well. The prankster had written Happy April Fool's Day on my board. I just busted out laughing. It was exactly what I needed that particular morning. My first period class came in a few minutes later and then put it all back to normal without even being asked. :)

These are the jokes I like, funny and harmless.

A Great Guy, TV Debut #2, and A Tag of 8

I have to take this time to let the whole world know just how great my hubby is. This week he has gone back to his normal shift at work which means he is supposed to be there at 7AM. I love this because it means he gets home at a reasonable time (5:30ish). The past two days he has gotten up and showered before me. Then he fixes the two of us breakfast and comes and wakes me up. Yes ladies, I've had breakfast in bed two days in a row. He acts like it is nothing because my breakfast is a bowl of cereal and a glass of chocolate milk. But babe, this little thing you've done the past two days has been incredibly special. Do you cook an elaborate breakfast? No, you do something even better. You take the time to think of me. But I must say after two days I'm spoiled. :) I could definitely get used to this.

Change of subject... Remember back in December & January when my student council participated in a local TV station's Stuff the Sleigh contest? We collected toys for children in our area and decorated a POD. We won the decorating portion of the contest and were awarded Breakfast with Tom, the weather guy. It was a lot of fun so when one of the members came to me about Tom's latest contest, I signed us up. This time we have collected cereal. The contest ended Friday and for the past two days I've had 461 boxes of cereal sitting in my room. I've barely been able to get to my desk. PODS came by today to pick up the cereal. They informed us that we had A LOT of cereal. So much in fact that just by looks they thought we would take 1st or 2nd place for middle school. We are so excited. I am taking four students (the top cereal bringer for each grade) to a Wrap-Up party Thursday morning. We will be eating breakfast with Tom at Golden Corral from 5-7AM. This means I will be making my 2nd TV debut. They will announce the winners at breakfast. Crossing our fingers that we win. If we do we get breakfast with Tom again at the Weather Garden at the station.

I've lost it.

On my blogging inspiration that is. I feel like all I've done lately are surveys and tags. Well let me warn you now, this post is no different. Rhonda tagged everyone she knows :) to list 25 random things about themselves. So, let's see if I can come up with 25.

1. I'm a nail biter. I think I quit for maybe a couple of weeks one time, but I just can't seem to break the bad habit.

2. My food cannot touch! Each food has its on special place on my plate and needs to stay there.

3. This one is a tab bit gross and probably too TMI, but clean shaven legs is a rarity in my life. No one sees them so why should I go through the trouble?

4. I have never been comfortable in any swimsuit.

5. I like Hannah Montanna - the show & music

6. I absolutely love being my husband's wife and the mommy to two very sweet furbabies.

7. I am hoping to be teaching something other than 7th and 8th grade science next year.

8. In March, I am going to visit Washington D.C. for the first time even though my sweet hubby is probably going to have to drug & drag me to get me on that plane.

9. In little over the year, I will be gaining a VERY sweet sister-in-law. I cannot wait.

10. I intend to never lay another piece of hardwood floor for as long as I live.

11. I am willing to drive several miles for Dairy Queen.

12. After only five short years of marriage, I no longer fit into my wedding dress.

13. I do not like crowds. They are right up there with the dentist.

14. I love roller coasters.

15. There are only two things in my life that I truly regret. This is probably due to the fact that I'm a big chicken and am not at all a risk taker.

16. Four to Six - that's the number of children I think I would like to have.

17. Cheese is the only "condiment" I eat.

18. My wardrobe is primarily t-shirts and jeans, but I so wish I was more hip.

19. In high school I was a band geek - played clarinet.

20. I do not go long periods without talking to my mom. I try to talk to her at least once a day either by phone or by email.

21. Texting is definitely better than calling.

22. In high school, I was voted least likely to "do" anything with a boy by the boys in our class. I was very proud of this honor.

23. In elementary, I got in BIG trouble for selling homemade stickers at school.

24. I played a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz in high school.

25. I actually enjoy doing surveys like this.

I've Been Tagged

Open your pictures and select the 6th picture in your 6th folder. Tell us the story behind that picture.

Oh what a great picture!! This is a car that parks directly across from our driveway. Last summer while backing out to head to a workshop, I hit it. Grrr!! Not a fun experience - having to wake people up at 7am to tell them you hit their car. Thankfully they were very nice about it. Unfortunately they still park in that spot and there driveway is empty might I add.

I will tag.....
1. Kathie
2. Sara
3. Rhonda
4. Jennifer
5. Jill
6. Missy

B as in not any letter I was prepared for.

I have seen several people play the letter game, you know where you are assigned a letter and you come up with ten things you love that begin with that letter. It is sort of scattegories, which I love to play. Megan played this game recently so I finally decided to ask for a letter. As I awaited my letter I made list in my head as I imagined what my list would be. I made list for r,s,l, and a few others. I never considered the letter she assigned me. It's the letter B. When I first saw my letter, a few things instantly popped into my head. I really had to think on some of them. But here they are in no particular order. Ten things I love that start with the letter B.

1. Bible
I do not have the luxury that Adam and Eve had to LITERALLY walk along side God. I don't have face to face conversations him the way they did. But God still talks to me. I have a book that was inspired by him. I have his thoughts on more topics that Adam and Eve talked with him about I'm sure. I have stories that they didn't have. The Bible is my guide book. It is my instructions manual. My Bible has certain verses highlighted and things underlined. There are even places where I made a few notes. The Bible I have now is a parallel Bible. This means I have two translations all in one. I have King James on the left and New Living on the right. I love that I have both right there at all times. There are great great stories in the Bible. Stories that most people don't know are in there. Check out the Old Testament - there is great stuff their. Stuff like swords getting lost in someone's fat. Gross I know. :) The Bible also reminds me that God loves me. He loves me enough to have died for me. And even better he rose from the grave!! How awesome is that!!

2. Brother
At the age of four, I was presented with a baby brother. I'm pretty sure I've been taking care of him and protecting him from day one. Don't get me wrong, I have done more than my fair share of picking on that boy, but hey he's MY brother. Seth is one of my favorite people in this world. He is also one of the most talented people I know. He can drums, skateboard, draw, and so many other things. He has even been a wrestler before. Go Seth Sabor! He has such a kind heart. I have not always been the best big sister, but he has always been the best little brother. He has been there for me in all things. Right now my BABY brother is 21 years old and engaged to be married. All I have to say is that girl better be glad she is a sweetheart. Love you Ashlee!! I don't think I could have picked a better girl for him. And although I AM NOT trying to rush them along, I can't wait to be an aunt. I can't wait to see him be a Dad. I also can't wait to see him be an uncle (and I might be rushing that one a bit). I know that my kiddos are going to love their Uncle Seth.

3. Books
For me there is nothing better than sitting down with a good book. I absolutely love to read. I always have. I get plain old giddy when I enter a bookstore. And a library? Oh my goodness that is even better because those books are free. :) I get really into my books. I laugh out loud and I even cry. Once I finish a book, I have to wait until the following day to begin a new one. I'm still with those characters. And if it is a series, I do not begin book one until I have them all. It would absolutely drive me crazy to finish one and be left hanging. I wouldn't be able to read another book. Growing up I loved Judy Blume and The Babysitters Club. My favorite books was Just As Long As We're Together by Judy Blume. Now my absolute favorite author is Karen Kingsbury. She writes Christian fiction that is beyond amazing. Some day I will meet her. Every time I try something happens. And yes I'm aware that sound a little stalkerish. :) If you like to read and have never read one of her books, you must start now. I will send you if need be. As an adult I still love children's books. They are fun. I have started a collection for my children. They will have a full library when they enter this world.

4. Bubble Baths
This one goes right along with number three because the only thing that could make a good book better is a nice warm bubble bath. It is so relaxing. I take a hot bath every night and sometimes even get a bubble bath. Some of my favorite memories are when I've come home from work (when I work night shift at Sonic) and Andrew would have my book and nice warm bubble bath waiting for me.

5. Britt Nicole
Britt Nicole is a young Christian artist. I discovered her a few years ago at Winter Jam. At that point she was not well known. In fact, her first cd hadn't even been released yet. Say It was one of the first albums to go on my ipod. She is great. She writes about a lot of touchy subjects but subjects that a lot of young people deal with today. She has a song about her parent's divorce and how that affected her and a song about cutting. My favorite is Set The World On Fire. She is currently working on her second album and I can't wait to hear it.

6. Blogging
I have come to love blogging. It is getting dangerously close to an addiction. I have made new friends and have really been blessed through my blog. I have loved getting to know all you bloggers. Blogging has been an outlet for me. It's a place to share what God is showing me and just what I am doing in life. Someday I might even print all my posts and make a scrapbook.

7. Birthday Cake
I love me some yummy birthday cake with lots of frosting. My fave is white or yellow cake with vanilla frosting.

8. Breakfast
Breakfast, in my opinion, is the best meal of the day! I could eat it three meals a day. In fact, some days I do. Nothing beats a big stack of pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patties, bacon, and toast. Yumm. My day isn't really going until I have had something for breakfast. I also enjoy a good bowl of cereal. Fruit Loops are my first choice. A good breakfast is definitely the way to this girls heart. :)

9. Beach
I love the beach. I have only been a few times, but it has been great both times! If you have a good book it is even better. I don't think I would like to live on the beach as it would lose its appeal. But Destin, Florida is nice to visit in early September.

10. Bed
My bed is probably one of if not my most favorite place in my house. We spend a lot time there. We practically live there. We watch tv in bed, we read in bed, we talk in bed, we even eat in bed. I will have to post this picture another time because I want to be a picture of my bed, not just any bed. And right now, my bed is torn apart because of our home improvement projects.

If you need some blogging inspiration, let me know and I'll give you a letter so you can play too.

Thank you Chelsey.

I have been tagged by Chelsey to list six happy things and then choose six people. This couldn't have come on a better day. It has been one of those days when nothing would work for me - my computer, the copier, my students. It is definitely a great moment to stop and be reminded of all of the good things. I'm not going to choose six people - I challenge anyone who reads this to make their own list. Surely we all have six little things to be happy about.

1. I have a God and Savior who loves me no matter what and who never gives up on me. I was reminded of that in a song we sang at church yesterday. I'm am so thankful to be a child of God.

2. I have a husband who is also a child of God and he is HOT!! LOL - sorry. I went to a wedding this weekend and saw quite a few boys that I dated and/or thought were hot back in high school. Time has changed them. :) Anyways - I have the greatest husband -most of the time. After all , he is a sinner like me. He loves the Lord though and for that I am very thankful.

3. My babies - Liberty Bell & Liam Bailey. They are so fun. I know most people don't understand and think I'm crazy but those two really are my children. They are so sweet and a little crazy.

4. I'm going camping this weekend. Camping was one of my favorite things to do as a child and I haven't been in forever. Andrew and I are going with some friends of ours. I'm looking forward to camping and to the fellowship of good Christian friends.

5. I don't have to go to school the next two days. I have a workshop to go to that should be pretty fun.

6. The holidays are so close. I am so ready for them. I absolutely love Christmas. I'll admit I've already listened to Christmas music this year. I love this time of year.

Who Me? Couldn't Be!

Pinkalicious's post inspired me to do my own "not me" post. These are things that I definitely "did not" do today. :)

1. I did not hit snooze this morning and then sleep for another HOUR!!!!
2. I did not text while driving this morning. I know that this isn't safe to do while driving.
3. I also definitely did not decide to drive all the way back to school tomorrow after my dentist appointment for a baby shower.
4. I did not torture my students by making them write songs and then sing them in front of the entire class.
5. I did not avoid planning last night to lay in bed and watch television with my hubby.
6. I also didn't leave all the dishes in my kitchen last night.

See - I'm a good little girl. I didn't do any of these things. :)
