Sunday Randomness

{one}

Today is my last day with my spacers and I could not be more excited.  They are designed to create space between my teeth so that Dr. Lay can put a band around my teeth.

And though I'm pretty sure I haven't had the pain that most people have thanks to my extractions and the fact that those teeth have space to move into, they haven't exactly been enjoyable.  It has been excruciatingly painful to chew on those back teeth the past couple of days.  I assume that is because the spacers are doing their job.  I'm ready to have them removed tomorrow morning even though it means a new kind of pain with the bands and wires that I will receive.


{two}

On a more fun note my sweet concert-loving husband bought us tickets to see James Taylor this summer.  I can't wait.  We saw him a few years ago and it was an amazing show.

The concert is the night before we leave for vacation so it will be a great way to kick off a week of relaxation and fun in the sun.

{three}

Today is Selection Sunday.  I have filled out my bracket and am now waiting not so patiently for other family members to complete theirs and for games to begin.  I feel like my bracket is ridiculous which is ridiculous because I have no idea what I'm doing.  It's fun though.  My goal is always to not come in last place and to beat Andrew.

{four}

We are trying to be better about eating at home and eating healthier, but yesterday we tried a new Mexican restaurant in town.

They make homemade cheese dip and guacamole.  Andrew declared their guacamole the best in town.  The food was delicious and the service was incredibly friendly.  We will definitely be eating there again and probably in the near future.

{five}

Friday morning I drug out some of my spring clothes in search of my Pi Day shirt.  It made me ready for skirts and flowery prints.  Don't get me wrong.  I love my boots and my scarves, but I'm over them.  I'm ready for beautiful spring weather that last longer than a day or two.  

A Potential Snow Day

I have a feeling there is another snow day in my future.  It is currently sleeting outside and there is supposed to be snow on the way.

I have mixed feelings about it.  I wouldn't mind a day or two off but I also don't want another week of snow days to make up.  

We had a very productive day yesterday and now we are ready for a relaxing snow day.

The LBs finally got a much needed bath.  Bath time isn't exactly their favorite thing to do.

As you can see Liberty clutches on for dear life when it is time for a bath.  Lincoln may look all sweet and innocent in this picture, but he is wild.  Bathing him is definitely a workout.  He only jumped out of the bathtub three times.  That doesn't include all the times he TRIED to jump out of the tub.  By the time we were finished the bathroom was covered in water.  

Also...don't you just love Liberty's "toupee"?  Andrew said she was the Donald Trump of dogs.  HA!

We are all caught up on laundry and we joined everyone else in our town at Wal-Mart to get our milk and bread.

Now we are curled up watching football coverage.

Why oh why does the Super Bowl mean we have to watch football ALL DAY?

Can we not just watch the game?

I'm keeping myself entertained with some online shopping.  I'm constantly drinking water at work.  It's my thing.  I'm the teacher that drinks water.  I prefer to drink from a cup with a straw, but the straw to my owl tumbler broke back in August.  I finally ordered myself a new cup today from this Etsy shop.

I can't wait to get it.  I'm pretty much obsessed with monograms.  I want to put my monogram on everything.



This is a horrible way to end a blog post, but that pretty much wraps up my random thoughts for the day.

I'll try for a better ending on my next post.

Friday Night Randoms

1.  It has been raining all day.  We definitely needed it.  The rain has also made the temperature drop.  It's been nice.  Whenever it starts to cool off, I start listening to Baby Its Cold Outside by James Taylor.  I love it.

2.  Andrew and I have attended the past two Razorback football games.  It has been an absolute blast.  But I'm not going to lie.  I'm looking forward to watching the game on TV tomorrow from the comfort of our home.  I'm planning to make some chili cheese nachos for the game.  Yum!!

3. We close on our house in less than a month.  I am so ready!  We are going to have the blessing of hosting my family for Christmas this year.  I could not be more excited about that.

4.  Speaking of Christmas cards I have already started planning ours.  We have scheduled our photo shoot with Uncle Kevin - he is so amazing to take our picture every year.  It's not easy with two crazy dogs.  I even think I have the card design picked out already.  I just have to figure out outfits and we will be ready.

5.  The Voice returns Monday.  Yay!

Life As We Know It

I'm still here. It's hard to believe I haven't posted since the first day of the month. Here it is already the 12th.

I wish I had something magnificent to blog about, but I honestly don't. I've just been going through life.

The husband just got home from a 2.5 week business trip. YUCK! He did get to come home last weekend so I got to see him for a couple of days during that time.

With him being out of town, I've been a pretty boring person. Not that I'm all that exciting when he is around.

My days have consisted of going to work, coming home to enjoy a hot bath and a good book, and then going to bed.

Sadly my biggest accomplishment from the past few weeks is becoming addicted to yet another TV show. Have you seen Big Bang Theory? Oh my! It makes me laugh so hard. Definitely a new favorite.

Today we have just stayed in bed all day watching TV and enjoying being in the same room again. I miss my man while he's gone!

I have a pretty busy week coming up. Tutoring after school, professional development workshop, parent-teacher conferences, and a meeting with parents about an upcoming trip to D.C. I'm sure there is more, but those are the things that stick out. Thankfully it will all be followed by a four day weekend. YAY!


There's a chance we may get some snow tonight or tomorrow. I have mixed emotions. I LOVE snow!!! And part of me wouldn't mind ONE snow day. I don't want more than one though. I want to be out of school before Memorial Day. But another part of me thinks we've made it this far without one. Let's just skip the snow and start summer a little earlier. Tomorrow is my busiest day of the week and I honestly wouldn't mind have another lazy day. We'll see.

That's it. Just my boring life that's been going on. Maybe something big and exciting will happen soon. You never know. :)

It's November....

So, it's November. I figured I better do a new post or you all would start to think I'd disappeared. That is if any of you are still out there. Are you out there?

Ya'll I started bootcamp last night. I'm not going to lie. It was hard! There was nothing fun about it. I miss Zumba. It confirmed the fact that I have absolutely no upper body strength. My arms are VERY sore today. Push ups are evil. :) Hoping I can survive the next six weeks.

This year is absolutely flying by. I've said that before, but it's never flown like it is this year. I don't want to even think about how close Christmas is. Andrew bought Michael Buble's Christmas album a couple of weeks ago. It is starting to get me in the Christmas mood. It's a pretty good cd. I think I might include it in Christmas give away soon.

Speaking of Christmas, I'm at a complete loss as to what we are going to do for our Christmas card this year. We've normally already had our photo shoot by this point. You see I've had this idea in my head for months, but I'm slowly coming to he realization that it just isn't going to come together the way I want. So now I'm completely clueless. Oh the husband had a suggestion. I vetoed that one immediately!! Though I'm getting desperate so if you totally don't "get" our card this year, you'll know I went with his suggestion. :)

On a completely different note, I'm on a mission to get our house clean and organized. I'm giving myself one or two jobs at a time. The whole shebang is way to overwhelming. I'm going to need you guys to hold me accountable. Ask me how it's going. K?

Blogging With Secrets

It feels like it has been awhile since I've posted about something other than Tuesday Tunes. Which by the way, I'm loving that series. It's fun to share about the different music that God is using in my life right now.

There are several things going on in my life right now that I want to blog about. But they are kind of secrets right now. Either things that I don't want to share or things that are still in the works so I'm waiting to share. In time, they will all be shared.

But for now I'm finding it hard to blog when I feel like I can't share everything with you.

A few things I can share....


*Andrew and I have been visiting a church consistently for awhile now. This past Sunday we went to a class after the service where we learned the history of the church and how it all works. It's a big church so this class was telling us what all was offered. There's another class you can take to learn the church's beliefs and the next step to join. Andrew is in the process of maybe having lunch with one of the pastor's. It's something we're praying and discussing. Something we still have lots of praying and discussing about it to do.

*I'm so ready for June. I feel like I'm in survival mode as far as the school year goes. My zest for teaching is gone. I want to enjoy and love it, but I'm finding it really hard this year.

*Sadly enough, I really can't thing of anything to share with you. We've been a pretty boring couple. Take tonight for example, it's 8:30 and the husband is fast as sleep. I'm joining him as soon as I hit publish. :)

A Morning Must

A cup of coffee.

A coke.

A glass of milk.

Many people have their "morning must". My mom has two. Sometimes she has a cold glass a milk...so cold she puts ice in it, which I find strange, but to each their own. And sometimes it is a diet coke.

I never really had a morning must until lately. If you know me at all, you know that I'm an EXTREMELY picky eaters. Vegetables and fruits...not exactly in my diet. In my world, mac-and-cheese totally counts as a veggie. Doesn't it in yours?

The husband is always trying to get me to "eat like an adult". :) He tells me that when I become pregnant with child someday I will have to eat "real foods"....all his words, not mine.

A couple of months ago, he convinced me to try V8 fusion. I bought two kinds to try.

Pomegranate Blueberry
and Strawberry Banana


I wasn't really crazy about the pomegranate blueberry...a bit much for me.

But I love the Strawberry Banana. Now I have one every morning on my way to work. I get a full serving of vegetables and a full serving of fruits every morning before 8AM. It amazing!!

To tired to put together a real post...

* It was a LONG DAY!! I'm feeling very frustrated with my students and myself. I hate feeling this way. I'm really looking forward to the long weekend. If you think of me say a prayer for me and my students. We could use it.

* No big plans for the weekend. The husband will home from TX just for the weekend so we will be relaxing and just enjoying our time together. Our only big plans are to sit back, eat good food, and watch the HOGS WIN!!

* I have several post written in my head, but when I pull out my laptop to write them down, they seem to disappear.

* I have recently discovered hulu.com and now spend all my time watching episodes of Major Dad. LOVE IT! Growing up, this was a special treat. It was the only TV show I remember watching that wasn't on Channel 8, which was the only channel we got.
When I make it through all the episodes of Major Dad, I plan to start on The Facts of Life or Doogie Howser. Can't decide. I wish I could find Just the Ten of Us. I loved that show. Anyone else that watched that one?

* I went to the foot doctor yesterday. I can now wear whatever shoes I want and get back to all that exercising I've been missing (please sense the sarcasm).

Yes, I've started several, but I'm down to just this one. I couldn't keep up with a separate one for teaching and yet another one for scrapbooking so they are all rolled into one.

I slept outside on our trampoline once as a kid. I woke up soaking wet!

3. Played in a band?
I played clarinet in school from 6th grade all the way through graduation. Loved every minute of it.

4. Visited Hawaii?
Not yet. It is definitely on my to do list though.

5. Watched a meteor shower?
I can't remember ever watching one.

6. Given more than you can afford to charity?
As much as I would love to say yes, I'm going to have to say probably not.

7. Been to Disney?
My junior year in high school our band played in a competition in Disney World. We had a blast!! We even won first place. Of course we didn't bother to mention that we were the only school in our division. :)

8. Climbed a mountain?
I climbed Pinnacle Mountain a few years ago with the husband and nephew. Miss Liberty Belle climbed as well. In fact, she probably did better than I did. HA!


9. Held a praying mantis?
Only dead ones! I've held my fair share of those for bug collections all throughout school. I'm still not sure what I was supposed to learn from those.

10. Sang a solo?
Every time I'm alone in my car. :)

11. Bungee jumped?
No, but I wouldn't completely rule it out either.

12. Visited Paris?
Nope. Never been out of the country

13. Watched a thunder and lightning storm?
Can you live in Arkansas and not have this experience? Of course I have!

14. Taught yourself an art from scratch?
Does scrapbooking count?

15. Adopted a child?
We adopted these two furbabies.


16. Had food poisoning?
Thankfully, no I haven't.

17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty?
No I haven't, but that is also on my to do list.

18. Grown your own vegetables?
I helped my parents a time or two as a child in the garden. But me personally, no I haven't.

19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France?
No, but that would be cool!

20. Slept on an overnight train?
No, I've only rode on a train one time and it was to a town 15 miles away. Long ride huh?

21. Had a pillow fight?
Isn’t that what pillows are for?

22. Hitch hiked?
Yes, when I was 5! When I was in Kindergarten, I rode the bus past my house and to my best friend's house every day. Her mom kept me until my mom got off work. One day I just forgot and got off at my house. The bus was long gone before I realized that I was home alone and locked out. We lived on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. There was never any traffic. I remember sitting on the front porch just crying scared to death. Then a car started coming. My little five year old self got so excited. I ran to the end of the driveway and started screaming, jumping up and down, and waving my arms. The man in the car drove right past me. But then he turned around and came back. I hopped in the car with him and gave him directions to my friend's house. I'm still amazed at 5 that I knew how to get there. I am awful with directions. By the time I got there my mom and my friend's mom were freaking out. Thank God that strange man was a good man!!!

Yes!!

25. Held a lamb?
No.

26. Gone skinny dipping?
Only in the bathtub.

No, but I wish I could!

I remember talking about an eclipse at school when I was in elementary and watching it, but other than that I don't really remember it.

Many!! One of my favorites was watching the Sun rise over our nation's capitol.

In wiffle ball, yes. In softball, no...only a double!

Not yet, but it's on the to do list.

I've been to where my grandparents were born.

From afar... would love to visit one though.

No and I'm not sure I would want to. We went to the Holocaust Museum in DC. Pretty sobering!

No and even though I just said I would jump out of a plane, I have no desire to ride in an helicopter. Would freak me out.

Yes. I have a bag of stuffed animals in the attic and some board games in the hall closet.

Yes and I loved it!!!!

Yuck! No!

Not yet. Now that I have a sewing machine, it is something I want to learn to do.

No. Why would I do that?

I have stood outside the White House, but we didn't get to go on a tour. Because of that, it was my least favorite thing in DC.

Uh no! But my Daddy has done it plenty of times.

When I was in 7th grade. I caught them from my little brother who caught them from our cousins.

Mmm. No, I don't think so.

Yes. The Duggars. :)

I've been a part of several in my life time. Love Books!

Can't say that I have.

No and I would like to keep it that way.

Yes. I was a Senior in high school when I got my first cell phone, a fact that puts my 7th graders into cardiac arrest. Some of them got their first cell phone is 4th or 5th grade. What on Earth does a 4th grader need a cell phone for?

More than once.

I was born in Newport, Arkansas.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

Grilling out and having friends and family over. It's starting to feel like that time of year.





The smell of fresh cut grass. I love that people in our neighborhood are starting to mow their yards.


Yellowbox Flipflops. If you don't any go buy some. NOW! I'm serious! Best flip flops ever!!



And of course a pedicure so your feet look pretty in those yellowboxes. :)

Get Into The Groove

Earplugs. I'm sure that is something my husband wishes he had right now. Bless his heart, every time he comes home, I have the same music blaring throughout the house.

Whenever I find a new song that I love or rediscover an old favorite, I tend to listen to it over and over and over and over and... you get the idea.

I'm sitting here now adding a few songs to the play list on my ipod before I jump into the shower. I love getting ready for the day when Andrew is already gone. I take my portable ipod player into the bathroom and crank up and just sing and dance away while I get ready. So much fun.

My new look

As you can see my blog has a new look. I really like it and definitely need to compliment Leslie. She did an awesome job! I'm still working on getting all the information under the appropriate sidebar title, so you will have to be patient with me.

Four Eyes

I got my first pair of glasses in the 3rd grade. We had done the vision screening at school and the nurse sent a note home to my mother. So off to the eye doctor we went.

My mother, being the wonderful woman she is, let me pick out my glasses all on my own. She wanted me to be happy with them. I chose the biggest reddest glasses I could find, I think. Here is a picture of me and my first pair of glasses.


The next two years, I pretty much picked out the exact same pair. They got a little smaller and a darker red, but still big red glasses were my thing. I have to tell you, because of the above picture Andrew says he will never let our kids pick out their own glasses. I of course disagree. My glasses may be dorky now, but I loved them then. And to be honest, I don't remember anyone making fun of me.

Either way as I got older my glasses got less cool. Not in style, but just because they were glasses. In 7th grade I gave contacts a go and hated them. I wanted them out pretty much as soon as the lady put them in my eye.

I tried again in 8th grade and that time they stuck. I've worn contacts ever since. In fact, after 8th grade I didn't own a pair of glasses.




Not until Andrew and I were married anyways. The first summer we were married, for whatever reason I decided I just had to have a pair of glasses. I think I told Andrew I wanted them for when I was up late studying and doing homework. WHATEVER! I just wanted cute black glasses.

So in September, my glasses came in. I thought I could just put them on and go. That wasn't the case. If you have gone from contacts to glasses, you know that at first the glasses will make you sick. I was used to my vision be corrected at my eye, not out in front of my eye. With my glasses, everything was curved and flat surfaces looked very steep. I wouldn't wear my glasses more than 30 minutes and I would quit. Andrew kept saying I had to get used to them. No thank you. I didn't care that as newlyweds we just made a sacrifice paying $300 for my glasses.

Back in the case the glasses went, the case went into a drawer never to be touched.

Last year, when we were putting the hardwood floor and everything was moved around, the glasses got lost. I came across them a couple of weeks ago. For some reason that I really don't know, I decided to give them a go. I honestly think I've worn my glasses more in the past two weeks than I have my contacts. If I go to school in contacts, I come home and immediately switch to my glasses. I really like them.

They don't make me sick at all. I'm not sure why I changed my mind. Maybe it was because someone said they make me look older. Or maybe it is because I've convinced myself that the glasses help me not look dead in pictures. Whatever it is, I really like my glasses. It doesn't even bother me that the sweet husband called me four eyes the other night. :) We might just get our moneys worth after all.

Makeover

**This is not my blog makeover, but I couldn't stand the plain layout. :)

I am so excited to tell you that I am getting a blog makeover. This is the reason my blog if very blah right now. Please forgive me.

I started playing around yesterday, working on a a Christmas 3 column layout. Before long, I had a complete mess.

Long story short... Andrew came home and we left to get dinner with my blog a mess. While eating we decided to take Andrew cracked bowling ball to the bowling alley to see if it could be fixed. It couldn't'. Andrew ended up with a new ball, a spare ball, and a two ball bag. I told him it was okay if I could have my new blog. :)

Sneaky aren't I? So now I'm researching to find the right designer for me. Hopefully in the not so distance future I will have a Super cute blog to share with you. Until then, please forgive my not so cuteness.

Seems like forever!

I feel like I haven't truly blogged in forever. By that I mean really read your blogs or post on mine. I came home Thursday from school to find our internet not working. The husband was still in Monroe and couldn't figure it out over the phone. So.. I've pretty much been limited to internet on my phone, which is great but it just isn't the same.

Now... I feel like I have so much to blog about that it would scare off any reader to read a post that long. I will give you the very very quick run down.

Thursday... I come home to no internet and find out the husband isn't coming home as planned. I sit outside Pasta Jacks for free interent, car battery dies, sister-in-laws comes to give me a jump start. I go to Auto Zone to get the battery checked out, spend an hour there to learn my batter is dead.

Friday... Very long day at school. Husband finally comes home. We attend his 10 year class reunion. Not my favorite time, but I guess it could have been worse.

Saturday... I was not a happy camper. But we watched the hogs start the season with a victory so it wasn't too bad. Still no internet at this point.

Sunday... Starts off bad, church helps. Finally all things are good in the Weaver house again except still no net. Sunday afternoon, my little brother comes down to celebrate my birthday since he wasn't able to last weekend. He gave me the new Britt Nicole cd and Francesca Batastelli cd so I've been jammin.


Today.. still no internet. Drew has been on the phone all day trying to get it fixed. Someone is coming tomorrow to work on the line. He finally got my phone set up so I can use my phone to get online. Married to a genius.


As for the upcoming week... tomorrow I'm "hosting" my first pep rally at school. I'm a bit stressed about this. I have never done anything like this before and I'm just worried that I'm not thinking of everything. I just pray it goes smoothly.

Andrew has to go back to Monroe tomorrow morning and spend the night. I'm actually not sad for me this time. I think I have too much to do for school for that. But I do feel bad for him. He is completely worn out and in need of rest. He has really taken it easy this weekend, but it just hasn't been enough for him to catch up.


So there it the last few days in a nutshell. I have lots on my mind that I would like to post about, but it is way to much for one post. So stay tuned for more. :)

Monday Rambles

1. I have officially become that girl who is constantly checking her makeup and redoing lip gloss. I figure as long as I don't become one of those girls who does this while driving, I'm okay.

2. Back in January I gave up all Pepsi product because I received an email saying that they supported homosexuality. I must admit I'm impressed with the fact that I've done this as easily as I have. But now I wonder.... I know Pepsi is not the only company that supports things I disagree with. But am I really going to research every company that makes something I spend money on? No... just isn't going to happen. So then isn't it contradictory that I don't buy one product, but do another? Does it really matter that I don't buy Pepsi if I'm not willing to research everything else I buy?

3. When my alarm went off at 6:30 this morning, I realized that having my quiet time first thing in the morning is much easier when I can sleep in until 9:30.

Okay so I don't have as much to tell you as I thought. Maybe something more exciting later this week.

Sticky Words

While Andrew and I were in DC over Spring Break, I heard many stories about our country's history for the first time. One particular story came from my ever so brilliant husband as we walked through Arlington Cemetery. It was the story of Robert F. Kennedy's assassination. Kennedy had begun his campaign for presidency and was trying to get elected to the Democratic Party. He was giving a speech at a celebration for his successful campaign. He was to a certain side of the stage after his speech, but at the last minute they changed their minds and he exited the other side of the stage. Behind the stage on that particular side, awaited a man who was not fond of Kennedy. The man shot Kennedy and several of the staff in his rampage. People who were there to hear the speech heard the gunshots, but were unaware of what was going on. A man, I believe one of his bodyguards, ran onto the stage and asked, "Is there a doctor in the house?".

How many times have you heard that line? Writers come up with a short phrase for a speech, a movie, a book, or a television show, never planning for it to be a catch phrase. How many times have you heard the phrase, "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha" or "Run, Forrest, Run"? There are countless phrases like this that have stuck around for years. What is so special about Marsha, Marsha, Marsha? What causes any of these words to stick around? I don't know. I'm not sure the writer knows either.

It does make me wonder though. Is what I say worth sticking around for years? Do I have a catchphrase? And if I do, is it something I will be proud to leave behind? Sticky Words are very powerful. Just like any word, they have the power to tear down or to build up. It makes me very aware of what comes out of my mouth. What is someone repeats what I say? Is what I say even worth repeating? I don't know, but I know that if sticky words come out of my mouth, I want to make sure they are good ones. I want to make sure they are building up and not tearing down.

It's Wednesday

I know I know. Original title! Sorry that is as good as it gets today. :)

First I just want to sorry that I shared my emotional breakdown with all of you. I appreciate all the sweet comments and the prayer.

Now moving on... the blog isn't going anywhere. I enjoy it and it lets my Mommas know what is going on in our lives. :)

I have two pictures that I must share with you. They might be my favorites. The first one was taken yesterday in the backyard. Do you think she is a happy dog? I love getting to stay home with her all day.

I'm not sure when this one was taken. As I was pulling pictures off my camera, I discovered it. Apparently the other night Andrew came home and three of us were asleep. Liberty and I, being the good girls that we, were soundly sleeping on our side of the bed. Liam Bailey, however, decided he would watch some tv while curled up on his daddy's side of the bed. :) Isn't it cute??

Where are they coming from??

I've noticed in my last couple of post that links are appearing. It seems to be any word that deals with education. I'm not putting these there. Does anyone else see them?? It is very frustrating.

Anyone know what is causing this??
