My Little Super Heroes

I took Lincoln Baxter to PetSmart today to get a new collar.  Little boy is growing so fast.

His ears were up today and everyone we passed in that stores commented on how cute my little guy is.  They all wanted to stop and pet him.

Popular little guy!

They had their Halloween costumes on sale for 75% off.  At $4 each, I couldn't resist.

I love my little super heroes.

Miscellaneous Monday

* It's a four day work week this week.  Excited to have Friday off even if I'm spending part of it at the dentist.

*I have chosen a location for our family pictures.  Not I just have to figure out what I'm going to wear.

*Andrew bought groceries last weekend.  I requested  Frosted Flakes.  Apparently they now have 25% less sugar.  This results in a box of Corn Flakes masquerading as Frosted Flakes.  YUCK!

*I have been listening music for a couple of weeks now.    I'm tempted to go ahead and put up my Christmas tree.

* I ordered a new monogrammed phone case this past weekend.  I can't wait for it to get here.  I'm ready for a new look on my phone.

* I haven't bitten my nails since August 11.  That's a big deal for me.  Keeping them  painted is the key.

*I am loving these nails.  They make me laugh.  I'm hoping my guy can paint these for me in a few months.

I have the cheesy Christmas sweater to match. :)

Ups and Downs

Weekends.  Are they not seriously the greatest thing?  This week has been an absolute roller coaster.  There have been some great highlights, but there have also been some pretty low points.

Monday was a particularly hard day for me.  I don't want to go into details, but it was a day when my heart was hurting pretty deeply.  I am so thankful for family and friends to lift me up when I need it.  They also let me vent and cry when I need to do that.

God is good.  No matter what!

I am so thankful for the husband.  Though sometimes his logical thinking drives me mad, he has a way of making me smile always.  I found these old pictures this past weekend while I was cleaning out my closet.  Life with him has always been fun.

On a completely different note, I have set a date for us to have some family pictures taken.  They will be the pictures we use for our Christmas card this year, but we also need to update our family picture that hangs in our living room.  Lincoln Baxter needs to grace our walls.

Oh Lincoln Baxter.  This little guy has soooo much energy.  He is absolutely crazy.  We just thought Lib was crazy.  She's got nothing on this boy.  But he can also be the sweetest little guy.

Don't you just love those ears?  Andrew says he Weaver ears.  Ha!

Back to the family photos.  I have a date set, but I have no idea what we are going to wear or even where we are going to have the photos taken.  I have a couple of ideas thanks to our photographer, but I am really struggling with choosing.

I really want to go buy something new for the pictures.  Why is that I feel the need to have a new outfit for big events?  Yes, pictures are a big event!

Slowing Down

I almost hate to say it out of fear that I might jinx it, but I think life might finally be slowing down.

My brother is now someone's husband.  Wow!  Will that ever stop sounding crazy to me?

It was such a blessing to be their wedding photographer.  And honestly, playing photographer kept me from sobbing like a baby through the wedding. Ha!

I haven't shared all of the pictures with the bride & groom yet because it takes awhile to edit 600+ pictures.

I might have a slight snapping problem when I get a camera in my hands.

But I will share a couple with you that I have shared with them and a one or two that will be new to them.

They make a beautiful couple in my most biased opinion.

My brother may kill me for this, but I have to tell you one of my favorite parts about the wedding.

There was a huge chalkboard in the reception area and rather than move it, I decided to use it.

On the top is what she had to say about their day.  The middle is important dates in their journey together...when they met, first date, the day he proposed, and then their wedding day.

The bottom says...

He Says "I used to dream about being a wrestler and all kinds of crazy things.  Now I dream about being a good husband.  I dream about being a good dad and about growing old with her.  I love her not only because she's the girl of my dreams, but because she's the girl who changed my dreams.

As soon as my brother gave it to me to write on the board I started bawling.  So sweet!  Who knew my brother was a mushy romantic. :)

They had no idea what each other had said until their reception when they read them together.

So the brother's married.

I planned a Harry Potter party today for one of my classes.  We ate some fun snacks and watched a live webcast with the author, J.K. Rowling.  You can read about that here

Now that all the party planning is over, I feel like I can slow down and relax.  And man does that feel good.

Andrew and I enjoyed a date night Tuesday.  We went to dinner and a Needtobreathe concert.  Fun night!!

It has started to feel a little more like fall here in Arkansas.  I have been so thankful.

Bring on the scarves & boots!

A Random Wednesday

Oh my!  I'm stressed and scatter brained today.  So much going through my mind so you are getting a random post today.

We have one of those little inspiration calendars with a different saying for each day in our bathroom at school.  I don't remember exactly what it said today, but it was along the lines of If you don't want to look old you have to look in the mirror with the right attitude.  I thought that was so true about so many things.  Our attitude plays a big part in our lives.  We need to look in the mirror each day and choose to have a positive attitude.

My baby brother is getting married in TWO days.  I cannot believe it.  Even though he is 25 and by all definitions an adult, to me he will be an adult on Friday when he gets married.  Funny to me.  Never knew I felt that way until now.  I had a good cry the other day while driving home from work about him getting married.  Not because I'm sad about it.  I love my soon to be sister-in-law and I love seeing my brother so incredibly happy.  I guess they were tears of happy.  But a little sad too.  I feel like our relationship will change when he gets married.

I'm crazy I know.  Like I said I just feel like he is becoming an adult.  It's crazy to think of him as someone's husband, though I know he will be a good one.

My parents will have an empty house for the first time in 29 years.

This past weekend I was able to go up to parents for the weekend.  Saturday I went with Seth and Melissa to Blanchard Springs to take some engagement pics for them.  I had a blast spending the day with them and playing photographer.  These are my favorites from our day.

Next week is spirit week at school.  This seriously might be my favorite week.  Things are crazy and chaotic and it is a little challenging to teach, but it is oh so fun.  We have some new dress up days that I'm really excited about.  Be on the lookout for some crazy pics of me. :)
