Our Weekend

Why can't every weekend be a three day weekend?  They are so nice.   Especially when they happen to fall on your birthday weekend.

Friday evening we had a big dinner with our families to celebrate my birthday.  My Mommom made chicken and dumplings, my favorite, and then Andrew and I made a ham, some stuffing, green beans, and rolls.

It was like a little holiday meal.

My favorite part was that we were able to have both of our families here at the same time.  Andrew and I were talking and we are pretty sure this is only the third time this has ever occurred.  We feel so blessed that we love to spend time with each other's families.

Both of my grandmothers, my parents, my brother and his wife, Andrew's parents, Cary, Cody & Pryce were all here.

Dinner was delicious and was followed by dessert...lots of desserts!!  I ended up with not one, not two, but THREE birthday cakes.

Andrew bought me a cake which I thought was so incredibly sweet of him.

But it was chocolate.

I don't like chocolate.

He likes chocolate.

Not me.

I told him it was totally fine that I appreciated his thought and effort.

But he went back to the store and bought a little white cake just for me.

How sweet is he?

Then my Mommom showed up with a cake she had baked for me so I ended up with three cakes.

Someone said with that much cake I could have my cake and eat it too.

My family went home Friday night but Andrew's fam all spent the night.

Saturday morning we enjoyed donuts and kolaches for breakfast.

Then Andrew's mom and I hit a few of the shops on Main Street.  I really enjoyed that special time with her.

Everyone stuck around to watch the Hogs take on Auburn Saturday afternoon.  We had a good first half.  And we'll stop there - after all the Hogs stopped playing after that.

We had nachos for dinner and Oh My Word they were so good.  Andrew picked up some pulled pork from our new BBQ place.  It was delicious!!

Chris and Krystal joined us for the last part of the game and spent the night Saturday night.

Sunday was church, a Sunday nap, and some lake time.

And this picture pretty much sums up today.

We are just enjoying a lazy day at home.

It has been the perfect three day/birthday weekend.
