Tuesday Tunes: Christ is Risen

I've had a post stirring in my head for a couple of weeks now about the music that I've been listening to while I clean, scrapbook, or whatever. However, I've decided that instead of rolling it all into one I will give you one song at a time and really tell you why I'm loving it right now.

Today's tune is Christ is Risen by Matt Mahar.

I'm starting with this song because right now at klove.com you can download it for free. They give you a free iTunes download every couple of weeks. I've gotten some good songs from there.

This song has a powerful message. It is the message that Christ is Risen. He is not dead!!

It's one of those songs that will have you looking crazy while you drive. At least it does me. I will be pumping my fist, raising my arms, and singing at the top of my lungs when I listen to this song.

It is a great song to lead up to the Easter season that is quickly approaching us.

Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You've bled for us

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake, come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven's will
No scheme of hell, no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim

O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night

O death, where is your sting?
O hell, where is your victory?
O church, come stand in the light
Our God is not dead
He's alive! He's alive!

(Emphasis is my own...it's my favorite part)

  1. Thanks for the tip on the free download! I didnt know klove did that. I feel out of the loop on Christian music bc we dont have a station in Stockholm. I need to remember to listen online at klove.
